Kees Dorst – Consultant Hydraulic Engineering

Kees Dorst is the owner of DoWaCo, founded in 2018, and works as an independent consultant and specialist in hydraulic engineering.

He graduated in 1995 from Delft University of Technology with a degree in Hydraulic Engineering and subsequently obtained an additional certificate in Fluid Mechanics.

Kees began his career at the Dutch Ministry of Infrastructure and the Environment (Rijkswaterstaat), where he contributed to numerous national and international projects. Through this work, he developed extensive technical expertise across the broad field of hydraulic engineering, complemented by strong experience in contracting and project management.

From 2014 to 2018, he continued his engineering and management activities at INFRAM, an advisory consultancy specializing in management and hydraulic engineering.

In addition to his consultancy work, Kees is active in education, including serving as a guest lecturer on “Dikes, Revetments and Closure Dams” at IHE-UNESCO. He has been a member of several national and international research and technical committees (including PIANC, CUR, and ENW), maintains a strong international professional network, and regularly publishes on topics related to his field of expertise.
